Hey there my favorite ladies! I hope all is well. I know, I know the newsletter are coming in later than usual. Work with me. Still every Tuesday for now. I can’t complain honestly just going with the flow of things. God has been preparing me for every blessing that’s coming. A b*tch is super excited about my next release and all the colors being done. It’s been a long time coming. One day I’ll tell y’all the story on how one of the factories I work with caught fire release week and how I invested five figures that flopped. Life was whooping my ass. Thank God, he blessed me with hands cause nigga LOL.
So, after having a conversation with a boo of mine while watching Sex & the City I realized: Men I may not know, but shoes I know a thing or three. Men and women are so beautifully complex to me. Not shoes though. Ok ok ok they’re a little complex cause sometimes they hurt, but isn’t beauty pain? Exactly.
I mean don’t get me wrong I know men (to a certain extent), but shoes are my thing. My life is literally filled with shoes and kids. The opposite of Carrie, but you get it.
Shoes are my guilty pleasure. It started as a kid. My love for sneakers started at about 8. I was obsessed with Saucony’s & New Balances. Then eventually I was influenced by my peers to love Jordan’s. I’ll never forget feeling like my world was crashing when my mom couldn’t get me the gray, purple, and white 10’s in the 10th grade. Lmao. I now know how annoying that must have been for my mom having my own sneaker-head now. Then came heels. Yummiest of the yum. My first pair were Tommy Hilfiger platforms not so much of a dreamy heel. The first day I knew I wanted to be the baddest bitch in heels. 5th grade at Windsor Village Elementary I wore a denim skirt and a Tommy Hilfiger shirt with my platforms. I felt so confident walking into school what was one of the most traumatic days in US history. 9/11.
See the pic below of my little platforms that put a ump in mama’s confidence.
Though the Tommy’s build my confidence. The knock off sneaker heels and watching both of sisters go to Bakers in Sharpstown mall to get the hottest fucking heels to match their 5-7-9 fits did it for me. Who remembers Bakers & 5-7-9? Girl. What a time. Y’all I even sneaked my sister Tutu heels to school in the 7th grade walking around Dowling Middle School like the main girl in the Ginuwine’s video. Hahahaha. Writing this is bringing back so many memories filled with joy. The fact that once upon a time Nn was called The Shoe Dealer Girl. Yucky Yuck. Lol. Thats when I was selling Miu Miu sandal dupes out the trunk of my little hoop and whatever else shoe I could get out of the 9.99 store he in Houston. A bitch was doing whatever to follow my dream as a footwear designer. And I hope that you to do whatever it takes to follow that dream that God placed on your heart. It may not be easy but trust the process and do that shit.
And to the shoes that changed my life in the best way & the reason you probably know me and my brand Nn. The Monica. The paisley print platform that we still get emails for at least every two weeks. If you ever bought a pair, I love you :)

My grandmother calls me Lady Bug and that’s also my daughter’s nickname. Give me them now. It’s one of my favorite holidays this week 4/20 & yes, I created the cannabis heel alongside with my bestie. My unreleased star boots I made in four years ago were inspired the iconic star YSL heels that I’d marry you for. Di$count Universe are making a return and I hope the slides come back too. The wooden face heel is from the 70s and I just…. YES, YES YES. The dragon wedge is from Charlotte Olympia she definitely walked so I could run. Now for the kitten heel of all kitten heels the grape by Giuseppe Zanotti if anyone has a 39 give me please. Jeremy Scott did his biggest one with the Melissa collaboration. The pink cowboy boot screams Houston Fashion Hottie. Last, but not least the lime platforms are going to kill every scene this summer and fall. Timeless fly footwear by ya girl. Me.
